Site Planning
We are currently reviewing the requirements of each entity as outlined in the Business Case so that we can adapt to the final site size and layout.
Alongside this, we have engaged a suitably qualified Coromandel architect to create a first 'bulk and location' draft for review. This is currently being assessed for suitability before a second iteration is presented for community consultation.
As at March 2025

Funding
In line with the recommendation made in the Business Case, funding is being sought as a collective under the umbrella of the 101 Lindsay Road Governance Trust. Our General Manager is currently preparing a funding plan to progress site works and for capital works. All entities associated with the project are charged with identifying possible avenues for funding and communicating these to the GM.

On site activities
Our desired course of action is as follows:
To work with Council and our community to clean up the site, and remove anything that is obsolete and not required.
To erect signage that communicates who we are, and what we are wanting to achieve on site.
To remove or repurpose the small temporary buildings that are currently on site without compromising the overall site master plan (Trustees will determine the most efficient option).
To determine whether a staged or single build approach will be pursued. There are merits for both, and so we will seek advice before proceeding.

Communications
We recognise that it is crucial for regular communication with our community. We will use a mix of onsite signage, email newsletters, articles in the newspaper and community hui to ensure that people feel fully informed.

Construction and Building
This is our ultimate aim, however we won't be in a position to start building until our planning and funding are in place. We recognise the responsibility we have to built something that is fit-for-purpose, well constructed and suitable as a legacy for our community. Our overarching approach will be as follows:
Procurement plan and processes will be established to ensure a fair process.
A campus approach will ensure buildings are aligned and complementary, with the marae buildings to be tikanga led .
At all times, we will adopt a multi-use approach, using fit-for-purpose materials, with a future proofed approach.
