Resource Consent

The project is now progressing into the Resource Consent phase, which is an important next step in turning the concept plans into a deliverable community facility.  Technical assessments and specialist reports have been completed to support the application process and ensure the proposed development aligns with planning requirements and environmental considerations.

Funding

Funding for construction will come predominantly through grant applications but also from community fundraising and donations. In line with the recommendation made in the Business Case, funding is being sought as a collective under the umbrella of the 101 Lindsay Road Governance Trust.  Our General Manager is currently preparing a funding plan to progress site works and for capital works.  All entities associated with the project are charged with identifying possible avenues for funding and communicating these to the GM.

Pricing & Contractor Engagement

As planning progresses, the project team will begin engaging with contractors and industry professionals to determine costs, select contractors and to help guide the next stages of development. A procurement plan and processes will be established to ensure a fair process.

Building Consent

Following the completion of detailed design work and contractor engagment, the project will move toward Building Consent. Achieving Building Consent will be the final step before construction begins and we more toward building the Whangamatā Community Marae and Wellbeing Hub!

Construction and Building

This is our ultimate aim, however we won't be in a position to start building until our planning and funding are in place.  We recognise the responsibility we have to built something that is fit-for-purpose, well constructed and suitable as a legacy for our community.

On site activities

As we work through the steps to of fundraising and consenting we are allowing temporary use of the site and working on clean up of the site as follows:

  1. Working with Council and our community to clean up the site, and remove anything that is obsolete and not required.

  2. Displaying signage that communicates who we are, and what we are wanting to achieve on site.

  3. Providing temporary storage for not for profit community groups. Currently being utilised by the Marae Trust, Resource Recovery Trust, Lions and the Arts Collective.

Key relationships

The 101 Trustees are committed to maintaining positive working relationships with:
